Unfortunately, unscrupulous laser manufacturers have made claims saying they can do LANAP with their laser. If it were only true. The periolase is an expensive laser. I tell my patients I paid 3 times what I paid for my car (Jag) as I did for my periolaser. There are other lasers in the medical/Dental field. For instance the Diode is a relatively inexpensive laser they can be purchased for anywhere between $1000 and $15,000. There are some diodes that are of the same wavelength 1064nm as the ND;Yag. The only problem with them is the way they are pulsed. The Periolase is pulsed at 100 micro seconds. That is equal to 100 of a millionth of a second. Consider if the repetition rate is at 20 Hz (20 times a second) the periolase is off for 99.8% of the time giving it a duty cycle of .2% (time on). That means that the laser is on only .2% of the time. These diodes can only be in continuous wave 100% or gated at 50% on.
My Dentist says he can do LANAP with his Diode laser.
Make sure your dentist is using the Periolase to do LANAP
